BBC Panorama How to Save the High Street

BBC’s Panorama invited James to share his expertise on its programme: How to Save the High Street.  He did a great job, reflecting on the need to create thriving high streets designed for people, and how as we move away from a dependence on retail we can create more social, environmentally friendly and community led town centres.

The programme takes a detailed look at some of the inventive ways local communities are tackling the issues of the current decline of the high street, exploring the big themes and ideas of a very complex subject in a short programme. It’s an unusually positive angle for Panorama, and was brilliant to be a part of.  There is so much more to discuss, as the debate over how to tackle our high streets continues.
