Grand Designs Magazine

We're featured in the October edition of Grand Designs Magazine as one of their 10 Innovative City Homes.

The project featured is Burton Stone Lane, a remodelling of a Victorian Villa in the  Clifton Conservation area of York.

We adapted the home to higher energy standards, giving it new life, creating more space and connecting home to the outside by twisting the house to face its garden with a tapered single storey extension.

The extension has a series of playful openings: a pop-out window, a full height slot in the façade and roof and a sliding opening corner.

Inside the kitchen is conceived as a piece of furniture, made from oak veneer and inspired by our client's love for all things mid-century modern.

‍Take a look at the project here.
